Ms. Sara Guth - 3rd Grade

Third grade is an incredible year of growth academically, mentally, and spiritually. A large piece of third
grade is learning the responsibility for completing daily homework and organizing academic materials.
This is the year that connects primary education to intermediate education. The connection between
learning to read in primary grades shines through this year as we begin to explore deeper content in
each subject. Social studies and science are some of my favorite subjects to teach in this grade because
the content is so mind expanding for each student. Third grade is also one of the most exciting years for
math education as the students will learn the skills of multiplication, division, and fractions. With each
subject there is an underlying lesson of faith at St. Odilo. The church is at the center of the heart of St.
Odilo and guiding the students in their faith is our collective goal.
Being a teacher is the most fulfilling role I could have imagined for myself. In addition to the academic
work, I prioritize implementing lessons of empathy, compassion, and free thinking inside of each course.
