Mr. Dan Rodde - 6th Grade Homeroom

My name is Dan Rodde (two syllables, long o, long e). I have taught in Chicago Catholic schools for thirty years; most recently at St. Frances of Rome. I have taught Latin, English, Religion, German & Italian.
I have lived in the Chicago area all my life. I originally belonged to St. Monica Parish in Carpentersville and most recently I have been at Ascension in Oak Park. I come from a family that has been involved in Catholic education as long as I can remember. My sister, Deb Rodde, was a Catholic School principal for many years and is now an assistant at Ascension School.
I made a decision a long time ago to teach in Catholic schools, because I think they produce the most well-rounded and best educated students.
I attended Southern Illinois University, the University of Chicago, Northwestern University and Northeastern Illinois University. I majored in Classical Languages, English and Education.
I am excited to bring my many years of experience to St. Odilo and I am looking forward to getting to know my students and their families.
